Square Bulls-eye
Design a scrappy quilt featuring a
raw edge machine appliqué. Now’s your chance to use all those wonderful
scraps of fabric or fat quarters to make an eye-catching and colorful quilt.
Polish your color sense and machine appliqué skills. Bring your pre-cut
squares and take home a finished top for a wall hanging or lap quilt. Note:
any fabric will work, although tightly woven fabrics (like batiks), are
ideal.
Landscape
Treasure the memory of a favorite place forever. Bring a
photo of that special spot and create a lovely landscape wall hanging for
display or as a memento. Using small snippets of fabric and Steam-a-Seam 2™
you will fashion a keepsake for a lifetime. NO sewing required until you add
borders as a frame.
Hot Flash
Let your imagination go wild! Come and have fun with color
and shapes. You’ll first create a wonderful scrappy pieced background. Then
we’ll tap further into your creativity! You’ll cut fanciful flowers or
shapes and fuse them onto the background to craft a wonderful piece bursting
with color and movement.
Weaving
You don’t need a loom or yarn to weave – just fabric! Learn
how to weave strips of fabric to create several small quilts. You might also
explore painting with Shiva paint sticks to add extra depth and additional
texture and color to one of your woven pieces. Bring your specialty
fabrics--silks, satins, taffetas, etc. If you can cut it into a strip, you
can weave it. Or, just use your beautiful cottons. It's all wonderful fun.
Solar Confusion
Create your own stunning one-of-a-kind art quilt! Using just
a few fabrics, you’ll learn how the simple process of layering, cutting and
sewing, over and over again, will result in an intricate-looking abstract
art quilt. Learn a quick and easy method for piecing curves. Good machine
piecing skills are needed.
Fantasy View
Do you have a piece of fabric that is just too beautiful to
cut up? Let it inspire you in this class, where you can use it as a “frame”
or a “view” to make a lovely wall hanging. Hand appliqué or fuse, it’s up to
you. No sewing machine is needed until you are ready to add the borders.
Fabric Bouquet
Create a lovely bouquet of flowers using Steam-a-Seam 2 as
the fusing agent. Learn how to make tulips, lilacs, daisies and other
blossoms. So life-like, everyone will think they’re fresh from the garden!
